Happy ‘Knew’ Year!

Life is waiting to HAPPEN
Life is waiting to HAPPEN

31st December was chalked out for partying.

1st January was solemnly meant for the hangover…………..

2nd January was reserved for the birthday 🙂

3rd January is when I take stock!

Yes, by the fag end of the day I am in somewhat a stable state to chalk out what I intend doing with 2014. Am I a planner? Not really. I am super impulsive. If I had to live by the book, I’d be named the Alphabet. Just saying. I am famous for taking detours. Over the years, I have realized they have made my journeys more fascinating. So, as I was ushering 2014 and making it comfortable according to my erratic behaviour, something echoed from the by lanes of memories. As I cruised through, somehow, I was sure these 362 days were gonna be a Happy ‘Knew’ Year! Here’s why.

My Dad, my greatest strength and source of inspiration had many favourite phrases. He’d quote them from time to time to size up a situation, good or bad. These two were his favourite, and mine too.

“Main akele hi chala tha jaanib-e-manzil, log saath aate gaye aur caravan badhta gaya” – Majrooh Sultanpuri

Though the journey is mine alone, it does not happen in isolation. I will, at most times, be joined by many. Not all will go the distance. Yet, that does not take away anything from my journey. In fact, it adds to my life experiences. Enjoy each walk-in for as long as they are meant to be. Be it for a season, a reason or a lifetime. Let them run their course, and then, you carry on.

“Khudi ko kar buland itna ke har taqdeer se pehle Khuda bande se ye pooche, bata teri raza kya hai.” – Allama Iqbal

HE knows what I’ve been destined to do. I need to find out. Maybe I have. Perhaps I know. All I need to do, is get there, in this lifetime. I can only work on myself. How others react to this piece of art won’t contribute to my Curriculum Vitae. I am to take care of my assets and work on my liabilities. Reduce the bad debts and get rid of the suspense account. A tab on the expenses and a push for the income should work wonders. And when I apply all this to the book of life, I’ll be sorted.

So, is 2014 gonna be life changing? Maybe.
Am I looking forward? You bet.
Will I make it large? Yup, coz I KNEW the game changer, all along!

I usually refrain from mush because I know the high priestess doesnt like it ! But I hope I will be forgiven this one time 🙂
There is a lot that can be learned by the way you live your life vini.
The one thing that I am most thankful for in the past year is that we became friends. That’s all I want to say !

Oho, yeh ishq aur mush, I tell you. But Ruch, thank you for the honour. I am equally elated that we are who we are, together…<3

I loved the way you have given meaning to the two sayings. It’s a particular style you have, with words and maybe as you say with life. Have a rocking 2014.

Ah, Poornima, the credit for that goes to my dad. He’d always add his two pence to whatever he shared with us. Maybe that’s what you see. 🙂
      Happy 2014 to ya too!

Yes, the above two very distinct quotes I remember. And they always make me believe. You have a great 2014 too!

Hmmm Capricorn and yet not a lover of planning? That’s interesting.I think there is an order to your chaos too. But one thing I am sure we all capricorns have in common is passion and perseverance which is pretty evident in everything you do and will continue to do in 2014 as well!

Ha ha ha Swapna, I like planning all the EVIL stuff. So there you go, the Capricornian planner somewhere in me 😀 But yes, I will totally agree on the passion bit. Wish you a fab 2014 too.

Love both the quotes. My favorite too! I am not a stickler with planning. Broad goals are okay but I don’t plan every breathing second of mine. Spontaneity mein bhi toh maza hai na! Good luck, lady! I am sure you will like the year QUEEN size ;-)!

maybe it’s just my mood these days but I felt both the quotes that you enunciated are so poignant…. I liked to plan certain things and as of this moment living through one of my ‘planned’ decisions is driving me insane..Maybe I should just stop planning completely!

Naba, you have had a wonderful 2014 haven’t you? After all, change is good. Thanks for being there…..and sorry for the one year late repsonse, lol. I am toh you know how…..Have a fab 2015
