D defined ‘DITTO’

Fans of the movie ‘Ghost’ were we, my bestie and me. Unchained Melody remains an eternal favourite, till date. Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, they were prefect together. And Whoppi Goldberg was simply amazing! I have forgotten the number of times we’ve seen this movie. And every time, it tugged at the heart, just a little more. And so it was meant to be. If a man loved me, he’d say ‘Ditto.’ My bestie was convinced Sam would be the name of  her Prince Charming. Yes, when you are in your teens, you pretty much believe everything on celluloid.

And then, I grew up. Met loads of boys. Dated a few men, give and take a few boys. They were nice in their own way, yes. But living with me needed something else. Yes, you guessed it. They needed to be B.R.A.V.E and had to be bestowed with the Armour of God, for added protection. Now that was going to take some time. Or not.

He walked into my life in November. We dated in December. We were officially in a relationship in January. February our parents met. March we got engaged. And the following January, we said ‘I do’. Phew!! Yes, since then it has been a roller-coaster ride. And we are still getting the hang of it. But you know what worked for us? He said ‘Ditto’. What’s more, he engraved it for this lifetime, at least. Or was that his PR modus operandi? Hmmm, I wonder now.

PS: Oh and BTW, my bestie got her Prince Charming too! Her first born is named SAM. What do you know, Hollywood works! 😀
