This post is a part of both, Wandering Wednesday Series & The A-Z Challenge – April 2013
My Wandering Wednesday Series are dedicated to the flight of my imagination now and then, captured by my camera lens. And then, favourite songs and movies simply fill in the gaps for the right captions! I try to give you the backstory of the picture too. Perhaps you may see a tale hidden there. Check the previous posts here.

Bombay, now Mumbai, has always held fascination. The city of dreams, where all are welcome and stars walk among the ordinary. So much so that everyday thousands throng this bulging metro in the hope to make it here. Everyone is searching without a clue of what they have left behind. Perhaps, in this urban jungle, they find it too. But not until they have been soaked in the rig marole of the daily grind do they realize, the butterfly is really a caterpillar at heart.

Shot at the Kala Ghoda festival this year, this humble installation drove home the point and how. Money we know can’t buy happiness, but that won’t stop them from marketing it!

  1. “Everyone is searching without a clue of what they have left behind” rings so true for the city. I came to this city 2 years back not expecting too much. As much as I would like to take a flight away from here, I guess I find my feet strongly planted now. Mumbai is a city you love to hate 🙂

  2. Oh, even happiness can be bought in urban jungle called Mumbai? 🙂
The only glimpse I had of Mumbai is from flight and that of in Mumbai Airport. I should say the airport shocked me a lot with its unkempt attitude. we had landed in Mumbai airport for a connecting flight ot Bangalore. After checkin I saw not only suitcases being taken into the flights but as well big carton boxes and many of them without proper checking. I was seriously shocked..

Anyway, still there are 5 more days eh? almost there..

  3. I have this urge to open and see what is inside the box 🙂
Missed Kala Ghoda fest this year. That place always has some unseen treasures on display..

  4. Saw this at the Festival this year. Some of the exhibits really had a powerful message! Haven’t even heard of ‘Far From Heaven?’. Going to check it out!

  5. Do let me know, if you happen to catch up on any of those boxes…..
And what a thought “the butterfly is catterpillar at heart” OH GOSH!!! you are driving me crazy with your style, If this goes on nobody can stop me from falling in love with you…. just read some of your posts and already a great fan of yours….
    Please keep up the writing…..
    God bless you!!!!
