My Wandering Wednesday Series are dedicated to the flight of my imagination now and then, captured by my camera lens. And then, songs and movies simply fill in the gaps for the right captions! I try to give you the back story of the picture too. Perhaps you may see a tale hidden there. Check the previous posts here.

The peacock is the national bird of India. And I think nothing expresses diversity more than this beauty.  Tales tell us how a  peacock dances to welcome the rain with gay abandon. Poets have written odes to this magnificent creature. Me, I simply love the palette of colours.  Blues and greens are my fav combination. They are soothing to both the eyes and the soul. And of course, it wears an unmistakable crown of being the King of birds.

Sometimes, I am like this peacock that happened to cross my path at the Singapore Zoo. Many a feather in my cap, I am the undisputed leader in my area of expertise (or so I like to believe). Guarded and disciplined, I work within a framework expected of me. Cautiously, I build one day at a time. And then every once in a while, I shed my inhibitions and dance like no one is watching.  Because that’s what I was meant to do.

  1. As much as I like the picture, I love what you wrote about yourself. Keep shining and dancing!

  2. Guarded and disciplined yet shed my inhibitions and dance like no one is watching… that’s a must have attitude and spirit!
Loved the click and co-relation! 🙂

  3. Oh its such a pretty pic! And what an amazing description of yourself…
A dancing peacock is one of Nature’s most beautiful creation…I remember there used to be one on my grandma’s backyard near the big banyan tree which used to dance almost everyday…one of the most endearing memories of my childhood…
    you brought it back 🙂

  4. The peacock is my favourite bird – I’ve read 3 peacock blogs today – must be a message. Nice pic.

  5. Wow! The peacock is definitely breathtaking, but what I love more is your description of yourself in the last few lines. Hope you get to dance more frequently 😉
