I have just visited the GRAND MOSQUE in Abu Dhabi today. And no matter what I pen, I will not be able to do justice to its beauty, architecture and grandeur. I know I am still in awe of it. The final resting place of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( the same premises), the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as it is known, is the largest in the UAE, and the 8th worldwide.
Designed by artisans worldwide, it took 11 years to build. It is the epitome of peace, serenity and opulence in simplicity. White has never looked so pristine, ever. And at times when words fail, pictures speak. And so for today, I will leave you with a few snapshots of a place that you must add to your ‘must visit’ list.
