I decided to participate in the  #100HappyDays Challenge and share the picture story on my blog too. And so here I am with happy stories to show. Come, have a dekho! My personal hashtag is #BlogwatiGSmiles. Yeah, it’s all about ME!

Today, had such blissful moments throughout the day. Gosh, I am still grinning with the memory. This is a cake that I used to eat as a child. Venus bakery was a family favourite. We used to walk down about 2 kms in the evenings to their shop and then dad would treat us with this delight. It was one of those traditional old bakeries, hence the flavours were very characteristic.

That bakery eventually closed down. Now they have a lone shop in Bandra, I think. I picked up these cakes last evening. This morning I ate one. Afternoon, I had two and this was the last one that about four hours ago. I have been in heaven, since. When the taste of nostalgia gently lingers on, you know you’ve had it real good.

  1. Looks absolutely divine !!! No wonder you were on a gobbling spree 😛
I remember this yummy Green nut cake of Adyar Bakery (Chennai) was my personal fav during my college and working days. Then we shifted out of Chennai and the cake was totally forgotten. Or so I thought…
When I visited Adyar Bakery I remembered it and gobbled it up and now its a personal fav of my girls…I’ve ensured to pass on the nostalgia 😀

    1. So now you know why I was in seventh heaven, quite literally 😀 And I can imagine your connect, as well. These traditional bakeries are quite something. Happy to know that you have one on your list.
